My mom was an expert seamstress. She sewed wedding dresses and suits and baby clothes and doll clothes. I actually sewed with her a bit when I was expecting my first baby. At that time, even though I was in my 30’s, I still had a lot of growing up and learning about myself to do. I was intimidated by her sewing and I was FAR too perfectionist about my products. I feel fortunate to have her legacy – it is in my bones and my heart – and so now, I SEW. I still have her old machine and, when I sit in front of my super-fancy sewing machine, I am totally mystified by her incredible skills. Embrace your legacy and bring it home.
