Mini Easter Baskets
What do you need?
Two squares of any size fabric
I square of batting to match the side
thread to match
How do you do it?
Place the fabric right sides together with the batting on top. Sew a 1/4″ seam around the outside edge, leaving an opening so that you can flip it right-side out. Flip it, iron it so the opening is folded in. Sew a 1/8″ seam very close to the edge. Now, you can machine quilt a diamond shape or squiggles or nothing at all. Fold in 1/2 so the inside of the square is out. Sew a small dart at each corner. Fold in half the other way and sew 2 more darts. Turn it right side out and you have a little basket.
It took me a bit to figure out the size of the dart but it should be a small, squat triangle. Try one on fabric that doesn’t matter to you as a practice.
