Empowering Thoughts for Teachers
On July 31, 2021 by Pam
Parents don’t always have to approve of me or even like me – I need to be able to back up my ideas with research, listen to their questions and give lots of information.
Don’t become traumatized and stuck by parents who question you. Stay the course – change and new ideas take time and you need to be the gentle rain that soaketh.
Embrace change – expect the unexpected – learn from all of your stakeholder groups. Just because you are the professional doesn’t mean you have all the answers. Parents know their kids best.
You don’t have to succeed in everything you do to be a valuable person. You can make mistakes, apologize and model moving forward.
I am responsible for what I bring to the table at my school. I can be the light that shines and makes all the difference. There are going to be miserable people around you and you can’t change or make them pay. You can control your emotions.
Joy in life comes from giving back – without expectation of receiving in return.
A bad day yesterday does not impact today – life is not easy or fair. We can all learn and grow and become better tomorrow than we were today. We all feel sad and uncomfortable sometimes and that helps us grow.
