I have also included the instructions for a child-sized version (7-9 year old) – see below…..

Cast on 90 sts. Place marker to mark start of round. Work in 1×1 twisted rip (p1, k1tbl) for 10 rounds, then proceed to above chart/text instructions.

Round 1: P8, (k-tbl, p1) twice, p3.

Round 2: K7, p1, (k-tbl, p1) twice, k3.

Rounds 3-8: P1, k-tbl, p1, k4, p1, (k-tbl, p1) twice, k3.

Round 9: P1, k-tbl, p13.

Round 10: P1, k-tbl, p1, k12.

Rounds 11-12: Repeat rounds 9-10.

Rounds 13-18: P1, k-tbl, p1, k4, p1, (k-tbl, p1) twice, k3.

Work in chart until piece measures between 5.5 and 6 inches ending after a round 8 or 18, then proceed to crown decrease instructions below.

Round 1: Purl.

Round 2: (k13, k2tog), repeat around—84

Round 3: Knit.

Continue from Round 5 in original pattern.
