I make mine in October – just after Thanksgiving – and I feed it every other day until it is saturated and then wrap it in plastic wrap to give it as gifts or cut and serve at Christmas. I double the recipe but, I mix it in single batches when I make the cake.
Apple Pear Sauce
1/2 bushel of apples – peeled, cored, cut in chunks1/2 bushel of pears – peeled, cored, cut in chunks1 cup of water in each pan Boil until soft. Puree in food processer. Fill sterilzed jars to 1/4 inch from the rim. Add sterlized lids and rings (I boil mine for 5 minutes). Tighten and process
