Bowl Cozy

A bowl cozy holds your bowl when you put it in the microwave to heat your bowl of…soup, stew, oatmeal…anything! It is easy to make, can use up your stash and makes a great gift!!

Step 1:
Cut 2- 10 inch squares of 100% cotton and 2-10 inch squares of microwave safe quilt batting.

Step 2:
Place the batting against each piece of cotton – right side out.
Draw a line to dived the batting each way and then draw diagonal lines across the batting.

Step 3:
Mark one inch on each side of the straight lines and 2 – 1/2 inches above on the line. Join the top mark to each of the bottom marks to create a triangle.

Step 4:
Sew along each long diagonal line (as pictured in the middle picture above).

Step 5:
Fold the triangles to match the 1 inch bottoms and sew together to create the dart. Trim off the excess fabric.

Step 6:

Place the piece right sides together, matching the darts. Sew a generous seam around the outside, catching the fabric and the batting. Leave a space to turn the bowl cozy right side out.
