My Quilting Group and The Wanderer’s Wife
On 2022-01-26 by PamEvery Wednesday morning, we meet together – Heather and Margaret and I – we start with coffee and sharing and then we head downstairs for our project. Lots of times, we are all working on something different – we have had a few projects that we have shared and we like these the best. Quilting is about connecting for us, we share each others lives and stories and offer support – and even a little advice when it is asked for. We are friends and we are quilters. So, we are launching a new journey – The Wanderer’s Wife Quilt. A big thanks to Wendy Lumley – who inspired us to give it a try – she is an amazing quilter and a kind and generous person….you are always an honourary and welcome member of our quilting group. You can buy the pattern book at:

This may not be the most politically correct project we have done…LOL but, it is a great quilting group project and absolutely perfect for using up scraps from your stash. In our quilting group, there are NO rules so, you can put your quilt together any way you like. We started today and it was SO. MUCH. FUN….so follow along for our weekly/bi-weekly progress.
Today, we started the first block – which we discovered does not go in section one but, we are going to figure out how we want to progress. There are about 10 sections to the quilt and I think we want to do them in order so, we didn’t exactly start the way we wanted but, I will keep you posted.

Today, we cut out all the pieces for the first block in the book – each of us in our own combination of patters and colours.

Heather was able to get some of her block sewn together, but Margaret and I were not ready to sew yet.
Our little friend, Madigan is also a big help….LOL

I will also share the tips and things that we learn along the way….we are always learning!!

Heather kept going after quilting today – it was cold and snowy and there was not much to do…and she couldn’t resist!!!
