
Corner to Corner Box Stitch

Crocheted washcloths are a fun gift to tuck in with some homemade jam for a special birthday. You can easily mail them to a friend or roll them up, tie on a ribbon and use them for a favour for shower for a baby or a bride
Pattern:
First Box:
Make a slip knot. Ch 5, dc in 3rd chain from hook; place st marker in skipped 2 chs. Dc in each of the next 2 chs. Turn.
Adding to sides:
Row 1: Ch 5, dc in 3rd ch from hook; place a st marker in skipped 2 chs, dc in each of next 2 chs, slst in marked ch-2 sp from previous row, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp, remove marker and use at beg of next row; turn.
Row 2: Ch 5, dc in 3rd ch from hook; place st marker to skipped 2 chs, dc in each of the next 2 chs, *slst in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp; rep from * across, remove marker, turn


Repeat Row 2 until one of the straight sides is the measurement you want for the side of a square.
Shaping to a Point
Row A: Do not ch 5. Slst in each of the first dc, ch 2, 3 dc in first ch-2 sp, place a marker in the first ch-2 space just made, slst in next ch-2 space, *ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp, slst in next ch-2 sp; rep from * across ending with a sl st in the marked ch-sp, remove marker, turn.
Row B: Ch 1, sk first dc, slst in each of the next 2 dc, slst in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3dc in same ch-2 space, place marker in ch-2 sp just made, *ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp, slst in next ch-2 sp; rep from * across ending with slst in the marker ch-sp, remove marker, turn.
Repeat Row B until you’ve made the last box. Fasten off.
