My Super Huge Sampler Quilt is Home

Stitcharie Quilt Shop did an outstanding job on my quilt – the batting is pure wool and they did it in record time and at a VERY reasonable price. I am now working on the binding. I have completed the machine sewing of it (see my post on the Flat Iron case for a tutorial on how to do binding) and I am now blind stitching the binding ALL THE WAY around the quilt. This will NOT be completed any time soon as I am stitching each night once I go to bed….about 5 feet a night…(if I am lucky and don’t get too tired). Why hand stitch? Could you do it on the machine? Yes, but, it is a LOT of bulky fabric and it is not easy to hold it straight so, I know that I would veer off onto the white backing. I spent over a year on this quilt and I am not going to do any shortcuts NOW!!
