A NEW Baby Quilt…
On February 25, 2023 by PamA new baby is always an opportunity to celebrate all that is amazing about life. The birth of a child is a miracle and every family who has experienced this feels blessed. Babies are LOTS of work but, life is worth the effort and, in my case, once you see your children grow up and find their way and become people you enjoy spending time with – all the effort is worthwhile. I get the privilege of having lots of little people in my life who make me smile and encourage me to remember the importance of acceptance and compassion and giving love freely. When a little one is snuggled up next to you and you are reading a book, it is the most generous feeling in the world. Practice slowing down, practice pure joy at building with blocks or creating with crayons or paint. Thank you, in particular, to Mason and Charlotte, who fill many moments with absolute joy and remind me about what is really important in life – to share your compassion, empathy, time and love with those around you.
So, I pass on another baby quilt – to be snuggled with and to give me yet another opportunity to share hope and friendship with another family.
This one was designed by Charles and is a little different than my usual. I love it – its strips of fun patterns that represent lots of “baby” things – like Minnie Mouse and flowers and elephants and bees and many more. I machine-quilted the waves on it. It was a bigger size so a bit more challenging but, I love the outcome. Thanks to Charlotte for lending her crib for the pictures – it helped me picture a little one all snuggled up in her new quilt.
