Still crocheting DISHCLOTHS….
On 2023-09-09 by PamI started working my way through “A Year of Dishcloths” and, anyone who knows me, knows that once I start something (a book, a project, a plan of any kind), I do not stop so, I continue to make dishcloths. This time, it was all about using up scraps – the actual pattern was completely different because they used a consistent colour (or two). For me, I hate throwing away and would rather see items re-used or recycled or repaired and used. We are definitely a throw-away society…just walk down the road on garbage day or visit a landfill. I have worked hard to really STOP just buying and really think about what I need and will use. So, I used up MANY scraps on the square dishcloths and I will continue to try to use as many scraps of cotton as possible to complete this project. For today, I have some hearts and just rectangles and lots of fancy border. These are also an example of what happens when you use a thicker and thinner cotton – you get different sizes and shapes and when it is a dishcloth, no one really cares.
