Dishcloths and here comes Christmas…

Today, I am making Christmas cake, my yearly ritual after Thanksgiving. Today, is a beautiful, sunny day but it is cold – a reminder that winter is coming and snow and cold but, first Hallowe’en and Remembrance Day and all those other “in between” events. I am still working my way through “A Year of Dishcloths” and I am now heavily into winter and many, many Christmas themed dishcloths.

These had cluster and picot stitches – the picot stitches are great for edging and to create points and the clusters create the ripples that made Santa’s beard and mustache. Using these for gifts this Christmas with some canning and Christmas cake and cookies that are soon to be baked will allow me to share this trip through the “washcloth” year with my friends.
