Our travels through Spain and Portugal were vibrant – the architecture of Lisbon, Porto and Vigo and The Algarve were alive with beautiful colours and the most amazing doors. Below, I have a collection of all the ornate doors we saw as we walked through the cities. We walked 75 km during our trip – lots of it uphill and much of it through narrow streets with charming doors, tiled buildings, mosaic sidewalks and ocean views. From castles, to churches, to apartment buildings to shops along the street, the doors were a stunning feature and drew our attention wherever we went.
