Enjoying a Beautiful Autumn Day…

The weather was beautiful today – 20 degrees – not TOO sunny but, a perfect day for gardening and bike riding. It is so important to take advantage of any nice weather before winter is upon us. It was a busy day – house cleaning, gardening and a bit of quilting. I have been recently reading about the importance of having goals and as a “list maker”, I always have things that I want to accomplish every day. I find that having goals focuses my attention, energizes me and challenges me. I don’t really watch daytime TV – I tend to read or bake, exercise, sew, visit or babysit my little people or make plans with friends and save the TV watching for later in the evening. I do love to cross things off my list but, I am always flexible – it I happen to get a call from a friend or get busy with a project, I just shift my list and move it to the next day.
I think creativity is available to all of us – creative people are more optimistic and confident and they usually accept ambiguity and uncertainty. Creative people have a wide range of interests and are usually flexible. I love hanging around with people who have embrace their creativity because they like solving complex problems and are curious about life and learning. Most people who are creative have drive and persistence and take reasonable risks. When we are creative, we are able to work on self-defeating habits or patterns of behaviour.

So, on a day like today when I accomplish all my goals, I feel creative and strong. Remember, you don’t find value in your life, you create value.
