The Washcloth Project of 2023

With Christmas around the corner, I continue to create some beautiful dishcloths that I will use as gifts over the Holiday season. I cannot believe that I have made my way almost completely through the book. Do you know how you feel when you get to the end of a book that you have really loved reading? That is how I feel right now – so, I will be in search of another project to replace this one for 2024.

I recently read some information about goals. I love having a goal that I want to reach. Goals help me focus my attention, they mobilize my energy and direct my efforts. Goals have incentives attached – to search for strategies and to increase persistence. I always like my goals to be specific, substantial and challenging. I always make sure that they are reasonable in that I have both the resources and the time to complete them. I am also flexible and so when I have a busy week, or I am away on vacation, I can rework my timelines and still meet my goals. All my goals also are congruent with my values – I chose making socks and dishcloths because I can give them away to friends and family.

So, especially if you are retired and even if you are not – set some goals to produce and become something better tomorrow than you have or are today.
