Crochet a Scrubby
On December 17, 2023 by PamToday was a dreary day just a few days before Christmas, so I picked up some scrubby yarn and crocheted a bunch of scrubbies. These are eco-friendly and washable and make a great little gift. Each scrubby takes about 30 minutes to make. Scrubby Yarn can be purchased at Walmart or Michael’s – it is a little more expensive than washcloth cotton but, each ball makes a lot of scrubbies. I made the first one out of the orange scrubby and then I decided to hold the blue and orange together – this made a thicker scrubby that will work well on pots and pans and sinks and stoves.
The pattern is here:
6 mm crochet hook
ch – chain
st – stitch(es)
sk – skip
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
blo – back loop only
sp – space
yo – yarn over
t – turn
th sc – thermal single crochet – insert hook into the back loop and into the front unworked loop of the stitch from the row below, yarn over and pull up the loop, you should have 2 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull both loops off the hook
Row 1 – ch 10, sc in 2nd st from the hook and each stitch across (9)
Row 2 – ch 1, t, BLO sc in each st across (9)
Row 3 – ch1, t, th sc (theral single crochet) across (9)
Repeat Row 3 until you have completed 16 rows
