Christmas Tree Skirt
On March 3, 2024 by PamI am always looking for a new challenge and when I packed up my Christmas decorations this year, I decided to try to create a new tree skirt. :As usual, I started with a search – pinterest, etc. to find some ideas. I ended up doing a “version” – as I always tend to modify my design a a bit. In this case, I followed the directions other than the “join” – I decided to use snaps to join the skirt instead of the loops and buttons in the pattern.
You can purchase the pattern from Craftsy at: https://www.craftsy.com/class/the-quilted-tree-skirt/
The class includes a video of instructions as well so, it is well worth the price of about $50 to take the class. (4 videos, all the templates and instructions in pdf).
In a book I recently read called, Just One Thing, it talks about little things you can do to promote a healthy lifestyle. One of the things it talks about is learning a new skill – pick something you find enjoyable and challenging and devote 20-30 minutes a day to it. Sometimes doing hard things actually reduces stress – it also reduces judgementalism and changes the way you think. The longer you stick at something, the more benefit you will accumulate over time. You will live longer if you push yourself to think. So, I definitely do that “one thing” every day.
