Crocheting Washcloths in Victoria, BC
On April 13, 2024 by PamWhat do you take with you when you go on vacation? For some, it is a camper or a canoe, for others it is favourite snacks or clothes, for me, it is yarn and books. So, as we headed out for Victoria last week, I packed the cotton yarn that I needed to crochet two dishcloths. They were from the same design but, they both look pretty different. It reminds me of kids in families – they come from the same “pattern” but they are always so different from each other. It is SO important to appreciate and value your children for who they are, not compare them to each other and, as they grow up, never talk negatively about one to the other. Kids can grow up in the same environment and react differently to parenting styles, school and they can also have foods and allergies that impact their behaviour and reactions to things. This is what makes families fun – and as your kids grow up, you need to learn to listen and appreciate everything about your children. When you send them off to school, do not let go – remember – you know your child best and so letting teachers know your child’s strengths and struggles just adds to their learning experience. Just like two dishcloths can look completely different and come form the same pattern or yarn, so can two kids be total opposites and grow up in the same house. Our kids always have similarities but, remember to celebrate the differences. Life is wonderful like that.
