Have you seen the BEES?
Last week, I had the privilege of accompanying a school trip to a bee farm. This was planned and organized by Charlotte’s nursery school in Grimsby. I always love an adventure with Mason and Charlotte and this one was fun and full of lots of new experiences and learning. The “beekeeper” was focused on helping the children to understand that bees are safe and friendly when you follow a few simple rules (like don’t stand in front of the hive). We visited BEE CITY, a little place where individuals or groups can sponsor their own beehive, paint it, visit it and receive honey at the end of the year. The little store was full of bee keeping supplies and LOTS of flavours of honey. They even have goats, sheep, chickens and puppies for kids to enjoy. It is a wonderful place, set in Niagara-on-the-Lake and would be an excellent way to enjoy a day this summer.
When I looked at their website, it is full of all kinds of opportunities. Wine tasting and honey, apitherapy…etc. So, check them out and maybe even sponsor your own beehive!!
