Are you out of dishcloths? Just give me a call…
On 2024-06-07 by PamEvery week, I make two dishcloths. I think most of you who have read any of my posts know that I have been doing this for awhile. The funny thing is…I don’t have a huge pile of dishcloths because I give them away almost as fast as I make them. I have often looked up lists of ways to “commit” random acts of kindness and I have NEVER seem crochet and give away dishcloths on that list…LOL
Why should you perform random acts of kindness?
It changes your mindset. If you are looking for ways to be kind to someone – maybe just a common courtesy (like holding open a door), you can’t possibly be grumpy. If you are feeling down, the simple act of helping someone else lifts your mood. How can you feel sad yourself when you have just taken a moment to brighten someone’s day? We live in a skeptical world but, think how the world might change if we just started a kindness revolution?
Have you heard of the ripple effect of paying for the person behind you at the drive through? Try it. You may never know what happens but, you can picture the surprise and the change in someone’s demeanor. They might arrive at work in a MUCH better mood than how they started their day and that can change everything.
Sometimes you just need to take the focus off yourself and think about what someone else might be going through. Everyone is carrying a burden of some kind or another…you can make a difference, maybe you don’t have a dishcloth to give but, you have a smile or a random bouquet of flowers.
Are you having a bad day? Between stimulus and response, we have pause and in that pause you can change your mindset and your day by doing something random and kind for someone else.
