Why do I Crochet Dishcloths?
On June 19, 2024 by PamI would say the biggest reason that I do it is because it feels good. I recently read a book called, Just Feel Good. I loved the book because it stressed taking a few minutes every day to intentionally experience positive emotions – not stifling them with worry or doubt or requirements. So, in the evening, when I am watching TV or reading or just visiting with my husband or friends, I can crochet a dishcloth and just feel good.
Stop worrying and wondering, start trusting and anticipating instead. Embrace the idea that somehow and someway, things will take care of themselves – focus on ease, joy, relief…
Here are some “feel-good” go to ideas…
1. The Gratitude Blitz – How many things in your life can you think of to be thankful for?
2. Seeing the Small and Simple – like putting together colours for a design
3. Just One Thing – bask in appreciation and gratitude for one person or thing – dwell on those good
feelings – breathe slowly and steadily.
4. 700 seconds of sunlight – 12 minutes
5. Earthly Ease – get out and relax in nature – 30 minutes per day
6. Moments of Quality with friends or loved ones
7. Good News Gratitude
8. The Feel Good Grin
9. Find a Miracle Mantra and believe it
“I am happy, grateful, safe, complete, radiant, loving, powerful, and full of harmony.”
10. A scenario to Smile To….visualize a profound experience in the moment – instead of going for the
memories of “bad” moments – really focus on good memories and special moments
Above all, keep life simple…grab a crochet hook, knitting needle, good book or a glass of wine. Breathe, relax and enjoy, knowing you are worthy of this relief. Know you deserve it. Just breathe and feel good.
