The Bee Dress
On July 10, 2024 by PamSeveral weeks ago, while shopping with my friend, I found this beautiful, light-denim “bee” fabric. When I saw it, I immediately wanted to make a dress out of it – this time for myself – and I really wanted it to be an old-fashioned jumper that I can put a turtle neck under in Autumn and keep wearing.
A simple jumper pattern was supplied to me by my friend. We used tracing paper to create the pattern and the dress came together just as I had hoped. The simple pattern literally has 3 seams – 2 side seams and a seam up the back. A couple of darts for the front, a rolled hem and bias binding for the sleeves and it is complete. I actually had some bee fabric to create the bias for the sleeves and neckline. A BIG shout out to my friend, Julie for helping me learn to create and add the bias binding and finish the seams so beautifully with the serger. This pattern is definitely a repeat – it would be beautiful with any fabric – no zipper required and next time, pockets.
Looking good!
Love it and your garden is fabulous too! Wonderful!
Thank you so much! All the rain has really made our gardens grow!
