New Dishcloths…New Stitches

The “front post double crochet” and the “back post double crochet” work together to create this dishcloth. Pushing yourself to try new things is so important! Taking risks is called “Discover Mode” and refers to living your life scanning for opportunities, like a “kid in a candy shop”. You think for yourself and you grow. For me, “Discover Mode” started when I retired from teaching. I needed to re-invent myself and push myself to try new things. I needed to be flexible, explore a little and not get caught in “safetyism”. In the end, when you are dealing with life some things will work out, some won’t, so what?
So, I started sewing, biking, golfing, crocheting, knitting, connecting with friends, investing in my “little” friends by supporting a mom and dad who work SO hard to do their best for their kids, working on my physical and mental health and focusing on making a positive contribution to the world around me. It IS possible to re-invent yourself, it is possible to take risks and learn about boundaries and live a life that is purposeful and full of joy.
