Thanksgiving Napkins
On October 10, 2024 by PamGetting ready for Thanksgiving is an opportunity to pause and consider everything that is a blessing in your life. You can step outside feelings, worries, anxieties and look outside yourself and just appreciate life. Gratitude is considered to be something that is good for our mental health and it inspires us to move and to make choices that are good for us. It makes us kinder and it makes us feel more connected and it helps us sleep better. Take a moment (or more) this Thanksgiving to set your table, serve your food and then stop, and count your blessings.
I love the Thanksgiving table because it is a reminder of how plentiful our lives really are. There are events swirling around us and we need to respond to them with grace and wisdom but, they do not need to consume us. We can be thankful and we can be kinder.
In the last few days, I sewed a few beautiful napkins for our Thanksgiving table. We are blessed.
To make a simple napkin, cut two squares of at least 12 inches and put them right sides together. Sew around the outside as close to the edge as possible, leaving an opening to turn the napkin right-side-out. Press it carefully, turning in the flaps by the opening and sew closely around the outside to finish it.
