December 2024 Socks

My final socks of 2024 do not match. I made them two-tone and then I forgot to change colours at the heel and so they became VERY fraternal twins. I guess that is what happens when you are busy getting ready for the Holidays.
I think the lesson here is that you can take anything that is a “mistake” and make it work. Charles loves his socks. If you avoid doing something (or finishing something) because you are afraid it is not going to be perfect than you miss out on the process – the knitting in front of the fire while reading a book.

My new word is APRICITY – the warmth of sun in winter. If you want to feel the sun in winter, you have to bundle up and get out there. When you feel under attack or you feel stagnate, move. From Anne Lamott’s book, Somehow, when your inner critic is making you feel small, be a helper and dance – also, gratitude, chores, chocolate, service, breath and nature.

Never let the unmatched sock get you down.
