Glad, I finally had a chance to get back to listening. Aside from my comment on Facebook, some other things I have learned……
Dance – Dance classes you find out what is not moving correctly. Latin box dances fire up my sciatica immediately – you my old farmer hips don’t move well. But we are working on that at the gym and I know what helps and doesn’t with leg exercises – and failing all else, when we get home this is the Tiger Balm.
Yes sleeping is good – naps are marvelous. One thing I have learned through my little messed up sleep pattern is that routine is good – very good, follow the same routine every night and it does help. Interesting that when I procured that silly little hot tent to try it out, one very cold night, in that tent by the fire seemed to reset my pattern for a while. Need to do that again before it gets too warm out at night.
Nature – the bees – yes I am going to have a go at it again this year after a year off – have ordered my stock for mid May pick up. That is my zone out to zone in space – you need to pay attention or you will “pay the piper” with non prescribed arthritis treatments for the little creatures.
Hobbies – movement and flexibility; need to get down on the floor to play with the slot cars without having plan “A”,”B” and “C” to get up off the floor. Very important as the firefighters/paramedics argue who is going to play next with the Bluesmobile and the Chicago Fire Chief’s cars…
Getting outside; I spent a great deal of time cutting and splitting wood for the hot tent stove. I was out, further ruing my hearing with the chain saw, but though my journey at the gym I can now split wood a tractor bucket at a time. It gives me a purpose for being out there. Additionally canoe season is upon us, now the ice is gone, just need a little more daylight so we can get out and paddle more. Melissa is still my #1 paddling partner on flat water after all these years (40+) and it amazed me how, without much communication we can just make our new to us canoe move incredibly gracefully and silent – its a zen type experience. Now if I can convince her to let me get a solo boat I am all set for daytime paddles.
And lastly Humour – my lord in this day and age you need to have a sense of humour and find the ridiculous in the most obscure things. I always try to crack my trainer up at least once a session purposely, the rest just happen lol.
Again, great episode guys!! I really need to get the back catalogue listened to.
