TWENTY THOUGHTS FOR A NEW YEAR – 2026

I started a book called, Gmorning, Gnight: Little Pep Talks For Me and You by Lin-Manuel Miranda on New Year’s Day. I am going to share my 20 favourite lines from this book to inspire you this new year.

1. Lead with gratitude – the air in your lungs, the sky above you, the air in your lungs, the ground beneath you, your beating heart.
2. Make a little space for yourself – cup of coffee, tidy the counter, morning quiet, put down the phone.
3. Give your time, give your heart, give your talent, give someone something new, give your service, give someone something you made
4. Find clarity of thought, expression, who do I want to be and how do I get there.
5. Everything is always changing, lean in.
6. Put some music in life.
7. Full of doubt, but singin’ out.
8. Life will be unfar. Socks before shoes, let’s go.
9. Clear away the weeds, harvest your strength and joys, water and sunlight are best for you.
10. Give a little more than you think you can today.
11. Pain, joy, frustration, euphoria – everything passes.
12. Use your brains. Use your heart. Use your courage.
13. Close your eyes and breathe
