Pillows – The Finishing Touch

After completing my twister quilt, it was evident that the current pillows would not match. I wanted to continue to only use fabric from my stash. This was important to me because I have LOTS of fabric and though it is sometimes easier to buy fabric, I want to continue to work on sustainability.
Pillows are the easiest thing to make. You need to measure the pillow form and cut the fabric 1/2 inch smaller so that the pillow is tight. If you cut the pillow on the fold, you put right sides together and you sew up two sides. For the top (or bottom) of the pillow, you can either add a zipper or sew slightly in. You turn the pillow cover right side out, insert the pillow either through the open zipper or through the space. You can blind stitch the pillow closed with a needle and thread.
These pillows will be a fun way to upgrade your quilt.
